Statement of the President of the French Club of Bull Terrier,
American Staffordshire Terrier, and Staffordshire Bull Terrier.

"Last accidents that happened in France due to dogs bites, bring our breeds in
that time of presidential pre-elections on a very dangerous and upset way. The
recents declarations of the "premier Ministre" Mr Sarkozy, about dangerous dogs
and breed specific law already voted in France since January 1999 who classified
dogs in two categories, 1st category: Pit Bull,American Staffordshire who are not
registred to the SCC (equivalent of the AKC in France), Tosa Inu, and the 2nd category:
American Staffordshire registred, and Rotweiller registred or not; just prove
how critical is the situation for our dogs.

At the begining 2005, when reflexions was lead by differents Ministaries
for an actualisation of the January 1999 BSL, the French Club sponsored the
constitution of a complete file who's the aim was to defend the Staffordshire
Bull Terrier, at this time they were destinated to joined the list of
"dangerousdogs".

This file was sent in Summer 2005 to the "Ministère de l'Agriculture",
"Ministère de l'Intèrieur" and "Ministère de l'Amenagement du territoire",
this file contained testimonies and photos (200 pages)at this time it's stay
until that no answer of the ministary.The mobilisation of all the Staffies
lovers has been a success.

From my point of view there is an emergency today, and will need to
process in the same way for the American Staffordshire, who is in a critical
place, concerned in the 2nd category dangerous dog list law.
The English Bull Terrier seems to be in a less critical place, but we must
stay vigilants and be ready to act in the same way.

At that day it's time for all the American Staffordshire lovers, to work
together forgetting about political and relation troubles, all in the same
way, to help the French Club to establish a file concerned our American
Staffordshire, who will be sent to the Ministaries.

This action need organisation to be successfull!!
I ask to all friends of Amstaffs, from all the Countries, breeders,
owners, professional of education, veterinaries,etc.........who feels
themselves concerned by the future of the Amstaffs in France and everywhere
in the world too.

Send us testimonies, photos, studies about our dogs, to give us all the
arms to argue in front of our governement when the day will arrived.
